Xbox PlayStation PC Call of Duty Warzone adds Duos, but only for Plunder mode

  • Staff
Plunder takes place on the same map as Battle Royale, but it has full respawns and challenges players to loot the most cash. Duos allows players to team up in two-person squads in this mode.

Call of Duty players have expressed frustration over the handling of Warzone’s squad playlist rotations. Trios – the three-person setup the game launched with – has now been removed and reinstated twice, while fans eagerly await news on a Battle Royale Duos release.

A post criticising the removal of standard Trios quickly became the most popular thread on the official Warzone Subreddit, with over 8,000 upvotes.

The much-requested two-person squad mode had previously looked set to be added to Warzone during Season 3, according to an image which briefly appeared on the game’s website. Season 3 ends in June.

Warzone launched with two 150-player game modes, Battle Royale and Plunder, although it will support 200-player matches in the future, and Infinity Ward is working on new game modes too.

Call of Duty Warzone has attracted over 50 million players since releasing on March 10, according to publisher Activision.
